For there is no species that I had more comprehensively failed to see than the Leopard. Leopards were problem species for me. The cats are, almost to a species, elusive. No surprise that until this year they were two of the five species of cat I had seen. Leopard camels in Madikwe. Afterwards the comedown.

There were several sandy patches that showed evidence of small mammals, but they were no doubt nocturnal. I am uncertain of the exact species of dragon that we commonly found on the rim. We actually have this species at home in our own garden, so it was nice to see the species so far away in the desert. Camel bush.
