It is a common bird itself but I had never managed to see one so well even though I butchered the photographic opportunity. “ Bare-throated Tiger-Heron !” Bare-throated Tiger-Heron. Soon this strategy paid off, as we came across a Gray Hawk right along the edge of the river. Gray Hawk nearly in full adult plumage.

They could also give bones to a lion (lions are easy to come by), and they could simulate an early human ancestor butchering an animal with stone tools (we Africanists normally do this at parties).
