On the first trip in 2012 we used public transport to get there and the train conveniently gets you to Macarthur Square shopping centre and you can then get a bus that drops you right at the entrance to the park. It is important to drive slowly due to the crossing of the road of Eastern Long-necked Turtles ! Eastern Long-necked Turtle.

The first creek to the north is Willie Creek and we often visit it on the south side when we monitor the breeding pairs of Pied Oystercatchers. We didn’t see the crocodile, but there was a Flatback Turtle in the creek. As we approached the spot where the pair of Beach Stone-curlews were seen in previous years we heard them call.
