The capital is San Juan, an important center of Caribbean culture and transportation. But other species have not been recorded in the ABA Area, including, of course, all 16 Puerto Rican endemics. Although most conservation research focuses on northern breeding grounds, many ABA Area birds spend most of the year elsewhere.
