10,000 Birds
DECEMBER 1, 2022
A Wood Stork lands in a tree, while one Neotropical River Otter swims across and climbs a floating log. Young birds, at least in captivity, become mature after 5 years and start breeding after 6 or 7 years. This equates to a decline of 99% over three generations for Nicaragua and Costa Rica (IUCN 2019).
