Tropical Cyclone Iggy

The birds will be dispersing across the country and our garden has been rather quiet since the rain started. A wet garden without birds! We have been aware of large flocks of the smaller species using Cable Beach during the day and night on very high tides to roost for some years and decided to risk the weather and investigate.

Birding Shanghai in December 2022

This year, it seems I wrote one post on birding in Shanghai each month – and I am still not even sure anyone is interested in these. Probably the most interesting bird this month was a Grey-headed Canary-Flycatcher showing up in the Shanghai Botanical Garden. I know – sexism is very common in the birding world.
