Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. They are much more independent and still behave similarly to wild cats they are still pets and rely on humans to survive.

With luck, there has been enough negative feedback to stop this kind of insanity in its tracks, although it bears monitoring because there are no guarantees. They would realize that wild owls fly silently through the night and grab unwary rodents, not unsuspecting packages of processed cow meat. A pet cat raising orphaned ducklings!

I find it astonishing that people argue of whether feral cats are bad for birds in North America. The plethora of approaches to the feral Cat problem is not an outcome of a diversity of great ideas; it is the ugly chimera of inappropriate compromise among biased and often poorly informed stakeholders.
