The same goes for pigs and cattle that are exploited and forced to live in substandard conditions. Chickens deserve to live humanely. That’s the least farmers can do. People seem to lose sight of the fact that these are sentient animals, not food machines! Congratulations to California for being so compassionate and leading the way.

Consider some of the victories: On November 5th, 2002, more than two and a half million Floridians voted "Yes" on Amendment 10 to amend the state constitution and prohibit the use of gestation crates , narrow metal cages where breeding pigs are kept for most of their lives.
