In trying to find further evidence of the warbler’s behaviour and the sapsucker’s lifestyle, I found numerous mentions of Rufous Hummingbirds and “other species” coming to feed from sap wells. My first internet search was an attempt to sex the bird. Does he vigorously defend his food source?
