I discovered that they nest on Protection Island, which is off the northeastern coast of the Olympic Peninsula, just west of Port Townsend, in the Juan de Fuca Strait near where it meets Puget Sound. Once the salmon started heading upstream the eagles would disperse and go after them. But how to get there? And quite a view it was!
