The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) announced its annual list of top toxins for pets. Recreational drugs, such as marijuana, mushrooms, and cocaine landed on the list for the first time.

Such happy news from Joplin! The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Joplin Humane Society successfully found permanent homes for 745 pets during its weekend adopt-a-thon event on June 25 and 26. More than 5,700 people from 24 states rolled into Joplin, Mo.

American Humane Association is deploying in Joplin in partnership with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) at the request of the Jasper County Emergency Management Agency.
