Ring-necked Pheasants are native to Asia, brought over in the 1880’s. Since then their range has spread across the United States and southern Canada, and they remain a sought-after game species. While hunting plays some role, habitat loss as farms switch to monocultures is the greater culprit.

In the east, this species can be found along the east coast of Africa, the Nile Valley,and into parts of the middle east and India and southeast Asia. They have expanded their range through Indonesia and into Australia and is found in post breeding dispersal as far north as South Korea and Japan. ibis and the eastern B. coromandus.

She has lived in the Middle East and the United States and traveled extensively in Europe. She also monitors Pied Oystercatchers breeding along a 23km stretch of beach by bicycle and on foot. She is actively involved in fieldwork and maintaining the database. They are relatively helpless and immobile on land.
