All companion animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, rats, chinchillas, guinea pigs, birds, snakes, and lizards would be considered as pets. If it passes, San Francisco residents would have to go to a shelter or rescue group to adopt an animal. It would set a national precedent, even if it is San Francisco.

We love to see celebrities getting out there and helping animals find homes! Purina ONE has teamed up with Martha Stewart to visit animal shelters from San Francisco to NYC throughout the month of February. With the economy, and so many people losing jobs and homes, many more pets ended up in shelters.
