On Saturday morning I was out on the East Pond of Jamaica Bay with Carlos and Anthony enjoying a mid-September search for shorebirds. Of course, injured animals have a very difficult time making it in the wild. Peregrine Falcons are excellent at culling the weak. That is how it is and how it should be.
