When I started thinking about trying to get the association to cancel the pony rides and petting zoo (which are often part of one business as a quick Google search of " traveling petting zoo " will demonstrate), my several-year vegan husband said, "What's the use? It boggles the mind.

This was illegal, because according to FWC regulations, if you already own a pet that has been deemed invasive or illegal, you are allowed to keep it until its natural death, and it will not be confiscated or euthanized. Reptiles that are not treated ethically simply do not make good pets.
