It is not just a few outspoken animal rights fanatics who hold this view. Animal abuse is a crime in all fifty states, and rightly so. Similarly, most people also agree that: (2) It is wrong to kill a conscious sentient animal for no good reason. Premise (4) is widely acknowledged.
