Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge, North Dakota. Shorebirds, of course, are one of the groups of birds most known and loved for their social tendencies. This is my flock of Laysan Albatross , on Midway Atoll. Certain flocks of birds really grab your attention. Some birds breed in flocks, at least in part to avoid predation.
