The answer should be obvious to anyone familiar with wildfowl hunting in the US and the film Jerry McGuire – money. With no permanent habitation inside its boundaries, human disturbance is low.

They occur in three biogeographic regions; the Neotropic, Afrotropic and Indo-Malaya ecozones, basically tropical South and Central America, Africa south of the Sahara and tropical Asia.
