On Taxes, Veganism and "Pets"

One of those is vet bills, which of course aren't deductible, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't know the total. I'm doing my best in an imperfect world to respect the rights of other sentients, and I have heard vegans say that sanctuaries--and not pet ownership--will be the only way out of subjugation for cats and dogs.

Happy 12th Birthday Violet Rays!

The life expectancy of greyhounds is 12-15 years. She was adopted immediately, but returned almost as quickly because the people didn't realize how inconvenient diabetes can be. Then there's her hideous gum disease that has left her few remaining teeth in bad shape but without much to do for them (the vets won't touch them).

Just in case you were wondering what an 85-lb red fawn greyhound looks like from the back with a couple dozen acupuncture needles in him. As for Project Treadstone, there have been three fatalities-by-automobile and one litter of three kittens, two of whom were caught and adopted fairly early. I've had those. been there. My poor boy.
