And for thousands of years the lizards, rodents, and birds of North America adapted to Fishers, Badgers, Wolverines, Ermines, etc. Also, feral Cats on islands seem to be a serious problem, causing the extirpation of some indigenous species. Un-owned cats, as opposed to owned pets, cause the majority of this mortality.
