Wild chickens in Hawaii would come up to me at the beach but avoid everyone else on the entire beach. I even raised a juvenile magpie last summer when her mom abandoned her a little too early before she was ready to find food on her own. Animals take a wide berth of others even when they're ahead of my by themselves.

Cattle Egret has been introduced by humans to Hawaii and the Seychelles. Despite the Cattle Egret ‘s rapid expansion there are some areas that Cattle Egrets once occupied, but have now abandoned for reasons that are as unclear as the expansion was to begin with. a Cattle Egret in Brooklyn.

Sandwich Terns are neither named for the tasty combination of two slices of bread and assorted fillings nor for the Sandwich Islands, now known as Hawaii. I like this shot, taken as the tern flew over to preen, because it looks like it is abandoning the Common Tern to drown. Sandwich Tern ! Sandwich Terns are apparently quite callous.
