Conservation efforts have been sufficiently successful for the bird’s status to be downlisted, in 2018, from Critically Endangered to Endangered.

This is good news, and especially so for birders. There’s no accounting for taste.

The same is true of Guide to the Birds of Honduras , which I reviewed in 2018 and which was also a grassroots project (though Birds of Bolivia obtained greater support from large birding organizations).
