I kind of expected to see some sort of industrial wasteland; but a fair amount of forest is still there. It wasn’t until a later Pino Real trip, back in 2014, that I saw my first Black-headed Siskins. Still, the current pandemic’s extreme social-distancing requirements have limited my site options.
