One of their more noticeable achievements is lowering accidental bear mortality several times, from 9 in 2009 when the new motorway was constructed – through changing 130 km of inadequate fences with higher bear-proof ones and erection of 6,000 wildlife reflectors, plus two dozen warning signs for drivers – to 2 in 2015 and zero in this year.
