In December 2005 a 50-foot, 50-ton, female humpback whale got tangled in crab lines and was in danger of drowning. Jethro the dog. After I picked Jethro from the Boulder Humane Society and brought him to my mountain home, I knew he was a very special dog. The 10-year-old dog and 4-month-old joey eventually became best friends.
