The New York Times ' Nicholas D. I suppose speciesism/human exceptionalism is at the heart of the matter. Essentially, industrialized farming=soulless, small family farm=soulful. Kristof frustrates me. His passion and compassion for humans is immense, but he appears to have some kind of mental block with nonhuman animals.

I went back to New York to the areas where I grew up and went to college and graduate school for a five-day weekend. Also, the have families (as if other animals don't). Tags: Books Ethics Language parenting publishing speciesism veganism. I'd been longing for NYC and, as usual, thinking about moving back.
