From the Farm Sanctuary. Despite last year’s agreement with agribusiness interests in Ohio to ban and phase out certain cruel factory farming practices, the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board (OLCSB) voted in favor of veal crate confinement. Good news.although there had to be pressure exerted from advocates.

A press release I received from the Farm Sanctuary. Enactment of the bill will bring about the first federal law relating to the treatment of chickens used for food, the first federal law relating to the treatment of animals while on factory farms, and the first farmed animal protection legislation in more than 30 years.

For some people, it is inhumane to eat meat in any situation, no matter how well the animal is treated prior to and during slaughter.
