Wild bird rehabilitators want bird parents to feed their own babies. Experience shows that bird parents do feed babies in makeshift nests reattached to tree branches, bushes, gutters, and even tree cavity sections duct taped to another tree. Mites will eventually kill the bird. It is illegal to keep a wild bird.
