A few do breed in Europe, on the extreme north-east of European Russia. The geese feed on the unwanted tops of the sugar beet that are left in the fields when the beet is harvested, a clean-up service that the farmers are happy with. In Britain, wildlife spectacles don’t get much better than that. Pinkfooted Geese.
