There's a vague sense that perhaps he cares about the dogs or thinks that what he does to them might present an ethical dilemma, but the overwhelming feeling is that it's all worth it. This morning, during the Facebook discussion, Engber writes (and the first sentence is reason alone to chime in): Bring on the PETA hotties!

The reason we need to save the gorillas and their habitats (it's a book on gorilla "conservation") is--and this is from memory so there could be more--that gorillas have thumbs, just like humans do. Tags: Books Ethics Language parenting publishing speciesism veganism. Also, the have families (as if other animals don't).
