I can’t even imagine being in a position where my government was telling me to kill my dog, or have it beaten to death. Dog owners in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, are even being told to kill their own dogs, or else their dogs will be beaten to death by the police and the owners will be charged a fine.

I recently got an email from the Animal Legal Defense Fund. They are pioneering legislation in California to make public animal abuse registries. sexual abuse, and animal fighting as well as neglect (such as hoarding). Time and again, she has been caught housing dozens of sick, neglected animals in squalid conditions.
