A few nights ago, I sat out in a light snow/rain mix, in the pitch black of Madera Canyon, trying to find a Whiskered Screech Owl. By 7:30, two of the owls starting calling back and forth across the small ravine, and I had my 1300th bird! Andres Chinchilla – Guide at Alexander Skutch Bird Sanctuary, Costa Rica.
