Are Farm Animals Usually Killed in a Humane Manner?

The meat industry will say yes, of course, all animals are treated and killed humanely. In other words, the proverbial happy farm animal. In my opinion, and I am a vegetarian, the second definition of humane is the MINIMAL that we should expect. You are not processing their wellbeing, but their carcasses for meat.
