On December 16, 1985, FWS executed an abrupt about-face and issued a permit authorizing the capture and removal of all surviving wild California Condors.

Dead Sea Lions in Puget Sound - Again

KING-TV reports that both the state Department of Fish and Wildlife and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are investigating the deaths. Investigators say they do not know who is responsible. KING says one of the Nisqually casualties was a Steller sea lion, protected under the Endangered Species Act.
