A master’s thesis found that for Spotted Thick-knee s living in urban environments, the two biggest causes of injury or death were domestic dogs followed by ‘pool drownings’. That’s what happens to you if somebody thinks you are sacred. Presumably not such a big problem for the thick-knees living at Ndumo.
