Rescue Spotlight is going to be an ongoing feature here where we hope to highlight rescue groups to help them get more exposure online.

We at Animal Lifeline UK help animal rescues in the UK find volunteers and homes for their animals. Vet bills are covered by the rescue. The decision will always ultimately lie with the rescue though. Transporters , again as it says on the tin! Move animals from pound to rescue/rescue to foster home/vets etc.

They breed in colonies scattered around the Antarctic continent (the number ranges from 60 to 70, and as Kooyman points out, the colonies can drastically change in size from year to year) on the ice (and one of the things I learned from this book is how many different kinds of ice there is in the Antarctic) in the darkest months of winter.

We also try to re-nest uninjured baby birds so we don’t interfere with a bird’s breeding cycle. A parent bird’s instinct to feed and protect their young is very strong, and they will not willingly abandon their babies. Call and transport the bird to a bird rehabber ASAP. Ok, so you’ve rescued a bird. Find a box.
