Another 170 are in captivity, many of them breeding stock for reintroduction efforts. Eventually, I found the lone whooping crane present at the refuge by its call. Or is the mandate to protect the welfare and habitat of our state’s wildlife? I knew I’d never heard that before. Thanks for visiting!
