You probably have to go to a resturant in Botswana or South Africa to find Tigerfish on the menu. But, until recently this has not been confirmed by science. In fact, Tigerfishing is sometimes done with a dry fly, in Botswana. One is on the plate, as dinner.

The Sugarbirds are another family endemic to Southern Africa, again with two species; Cape Sugarbird (being a true endemic to the southwestern Cape) and Gurney’s Sugarbird (occurring at scattered sites through eastern South Africa with a small isolated population in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe.)
