Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve: the Tiger Afternoon

A winding track through dense woodlands takes us to the Telia Lake in the southeast of the Tadoba Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra. There’s a Three-striped Palm Squirrel by the side of the track, while Jungle Bush Quails are running across it in front of our Maruti Gypsy, almost the official safari vehicle of India. He has earned his tip.

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve: the Gaur Morning

In front of us, in the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve one wild Grey Junglefowl runs across the road. Nowhere in India have I seen broiler horror-chicken like those sold in supermarkets back home. A sounder of Indian Boars is watching us from the jungle. There is something written on those pages… written by tiger claws.
