I've been blogging here less partly because I've been blogging at Animal Rights & AntiOppression (check out my latest post " On Corporate Personhood and Animal Rights " and the better-than-the-post comments) but also because I've been feeling like a broken record and I don't want to bore anyone. Where do people get that idea?

And now that I've read Animal Equality and begun Speciesism , I think I know why. With equal validity, we could say that a human locked inside a room has 'freedom' from muggers" (75).

I suspect that many readers of this blog are Christians but not vegetarians. In recent years another type of justification has been given: vegetarianism has been justified in terms of human suffering, rights, etc. Clearly in our second hypothetical situation, it would be said, it would not be right to kill a human being for food.
