We have given an awful exhibition of slaughter and destruction, which may serve as a warning to all mankind.

What could motivate gunmen (I cannot call them hunters) in two states to deliberately kill North America’s tallest and most critically endangered bird? photo by JZ When a population of birds numbers only 400 in the wild, there can be no such thing as a “nonessential” individual.
