Ok, maybe not the vampire bat…but some of the more “cuddly” species are actually quite easy to see. Only a handful of small, fragmented populations were believed to exist in Venezuela and possibly parts of Colombia. No matter how many times I see this bird, I still find myself saying, “Smoking Ponies…that’s a stonker of a bird!”.
