Many years ago I interviewed Barbara Young, then the newly recruited chief executive of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), for an article for The Daily Telegraph. We had met before, so when he encountered me in Austria he asked me what I was doing there. These binoculars were made at Leica’s factory in Portugal.
