We can care about animals and people at the same time; they're not mutually exclusive. Why choose enslavement, rape, domination and slaughter? Many people support this, particularly affluent types, who have become dog and cat people and now own them as "pets." Let's just say the ban was meaningful.

On Responding to Jokes that Feature Animal Abuse

Why is the torture and slaughter of sentient nonhumans to satisfy one's taste buds so easily made into a joke by some people? She recently joked that Charles' tail would make a tasty soup--which I actually saw as progress because a "pet" was being viewed as food and that's usually taboo.) Should I be laughing? Why is veganism.
