I spend plenty of time doing nonprofit work that is unrelated to animals and also doing for-profit work that is unrelated to animals. In other words, I don't immerse myself in animal cruelty. So I do what I can do, beginning of course with being vegan. Because I would have a breakdown. Spiritual beliefs?

One argument is this: The present practice of treating animals used for food is immoral and should be changed. One ought to adopt the best means. One suspects that the SPCA and the American Humane Society have done more to stop cruelty to animals than vegetarians ever could. Consequently, one ought not to eat meat.
