I was in contact with a group of birders for whom I arranged and guided an annual tour to Africa. According to the World Bank, up to 80 percent of Ghana’s forests had been destroyed by illegal logging by 2008. The rare Rufous Fishing Owl was one of the many species seen by the group here. million hectares in 2007.
