Habitat destruction combined with hunting has pushed them away from their former breeding grounds. Yours truly counting birds in the Pastures of Great Bustard from the Russian made UAZ 4×4 in February 2008. Bustards are very susceptible to any kind of disturbance and, naturally, hunters like to shoot.
