We are currently doing an investigation on pig farms in Spain, including intensive and extensive/free-range farms (tho extensive ones are scarce since intensive ones are the majority in the industry). Investigators from Compassion in World Farming found 80 per cent of farms across five European countries engaging in illegal practices such as barren pens and routine tail-docking. Overall, Spain had the worst conditions, followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and Britain. It really sucks to be a factory farm pig in Europe.
