Another animal dies at the Calgary Zoo and more questions are being raised about their practices. I don't track zoos, but this seems like an unusually high number of casualties. They were a part of the zoo’s breeding program for the rare birds. In May 2008, 41 of the 43 rays at the Calgary Zoo’s 37,000-litre touch-tank died.

The Atlanta Zoo in Georgia is borrowing Chengdu’s winning technique to help try and have a baby of its own.

Wisdom is not charging people extra to see your reconstituted Jurassic Park style dinosaur zoo when all you’ve got is a barn full of chickens. In other words, you can’t say something like, “humans, gorillas, chimps, and bonobos are all in the same family and equally related to each other.” Therefore, humans are fish with feet, right?

The zoo, surely, carries responsibility for deficiencies in its enclosure. In light of this horrible incident, is it right for the zoo to carry on a breeding program that subjects more animals to such unnatural lives? In my opinion, neither Harambe nor the child should ever have been at the zoo. Finally, what of the audience?
