On the one hand, Woodland Park is very proud of its elephant conservation program and its elephant residents. On the other hand, Friends of Woodland Park Zoo Elephants says they are not well-treated and should be in a sanctuary. I just don't know what to think. I'm definitely open to feedback.

Four chimpanzees were killed last week in the central zone and 11 elephants since the start of the year," park director Emmanuel de Merode told AFP. Together with colleagues, Hicks was able to take in five orphaned chimpanzees who will soon be sent to a sanctuary in eastern Congo. Tags: chimpanzees poaching congo endangered species. Since Hicks left in November 2008, his colleagues Laura Darby and Adam Singh have observed another seven chimpanzee orphans and 3 carcasses.
